Nothing Else Matters...

Nothing Else Matters...

I've started writing this post about three times over the past few days. Reading back over the initial drafts is difficult. I was feeling quite sorry for myself and unloading all of my frustration onto the blog. I needed to rant about all the things MND has taken from me, all the things I want to be able to do that I can't, and never will again.

Life has a way of giving you a massive reality check at times though doesn't it?

On Friday I was told that Val Franklin had passed away, then on Sunday we found out that Rob Burrow had lost his battle against the disease. A stark reminder that at present there is only one winner when MND is involved.

I'm guessing that some of you reading this may well have known Val and so are fully aware of the lovely person she was. I first met her next to the 18th green at Rushcliffe Golf Club, as we waited for a group of ladies to finish a '72 holes in a day challenge'. Raising money for Stand Against MND. Val was one of the first people I'd met in person who also had MND. At that time I was visibly more advanced in my progression than Val, in my powered wheelchair and reliant on my ventilator. A casual observer would never have known we had the same illness.

Val would later tell me that she found that first meeting quite difficult. Looking at me was frightening, like seeing what the future could hold. To their enormous credit, Val and her husband Pete agreed to come over for a cup of tea to pick my brains about my journey. Nobody ever warns you about the mountains of admin that come with a degenerative disease, and if you don't keep up with it at your end you might not get the help you need. I'd been through a lot of it and I hope had a few useful tips.

Opening up and wanting that information takes immense courage. It shows in my view an acceptance of your circumstances, and a determination to make the most of the time you have. I'm so pleased that Val and I shared that outlook.

You would never have known what we were discussing based on the amount of laughter in the room. I was left with that familiar feeling of confusion as to why MND seems to attack such lovely people.

Val and her family became and remain stellar supporters of the charity, and I would frequently see them at the monthly golf club quizgo (highly recommended if you enjoy trivia and are of course willing to donate any winnings to a local charity...)* Val always had a smile and a chat whilst Pete always had a one liner at the ready.

*Not compulsory

Over time we saw each other less and less as we both found spending time out and about more challenging, until I heard the news last Friday. RIP Val, it was lovely to know you. All my love to the Franklin family.

A life with MND, particularly when you are integrated with patient communities on line and in person, means that losing people is tragically a frequent occurrence. A consistent reminder of your own proximity to death.

So how to react to such sobering news on such a regular basis? I remember I am alive. I have opportunity. I love. I laugh, I strive, I experience. In Vals honour, in Robs honour, for all the fallen warriors I've lost along the way,

I will live the most significant life I can muster.

Hello guys, after I lost my Dad in 2021, everything became very hard for me and my siblings, we could not pay our bills anymore as life took a turn on our flesh, I can’t use my credit card because my credit score was that bad but I needed to figure out how to help my family. To get a house and a car to keep the family running but I could not because of my poor credit score. I thought everything was over for me and siblings because my Dad was everything to us, all hope seems gone, not until I came across MR. JERRY who helped me out with my credit score, from 534 to 786 excellent credit score. All thanks to him and his team for clearing all the negative items on my report. You can reach out to him via email: jerrylinkcreditgroup.com to appreciate me later.

Hello, I’m Ella from the UK, and I’m here to share my story of how I met one of the best hackers to date. In my amazing moment of pain, I lost a significant sum of money to a fraudulent investor. I invested $34,100 USD in this investment company, thinking I would receive a huge return. When it came time for me to receive my return, the company stopped returning my calls and emails. I was devastated that my sister saw my anguish and sadness, so she had no choice but to introduce me to Wizard James Recovery, a great hacker. I told him everything about my predicament, and he requested the company’s email address, wallet address, webpage, and mobile number. He promised to assist me in getting my money back if I could cooperate and provide him with the essential information, and in less than ninety-two hours, he was able to provide me with the information I needed about the company and how he would do so without the company’s consent. His email address is WizardJamesRecovery@usa.com. Using the WhatsApp number (+447418367204). I was overjoyed when he returned all of my money and handed me two percent of the earnings that the business could have provided me. Therefore, I swear to make him famous so that everyone can get in touch with him for any kind of software hacking in your life. He is the finest at what he does.

My name is Karren Walker and as a final year university student determined to graduate without placing financial strain on my parents the prospect of a scholarship felt like a lifeline. One evening I received an email about a blockchain innovation grant, a scholarship program seemingly designed for aspiring tech students like me. The timing felt almost providential. The website was immaculate sleek design glowing testimonials and endorsements from well known tech influencers. A video featured a panel of industry leaders discussing the future of crypto and education. Every detail screamed legitimacy. They asked for a security deposit of $38000 in cryptocurrency. Strange yes but the application process was so detailed, the messaging so sophisticated and the social proof so convincing that I dismissed my doubts. I thought this could be my big break. I gathered funds through savings, a small loan and contributions from close friends and transferred the money. By morning it was all gone. I was shattered. The financial loss was staggering but the emotional toll was even worse humiliation self blame disbelief. I couldn’t even tell my parents. Then a classmate overheard my distress and recommended Passcode Cyber Recovery. I had already been burned but I reached out. To my surprise Passcode Cyber Recovery responded immediately with empathy and zero pressure. Their team acted with clarity and urgency. They traced the crypto wallet I had sent funds to and uncovered a sophisticated scam network operating across scholarship forums and Reddit, a larger pattern they had been investigating. Within two weeks they recovered $28500. It wasn’t everything but it was enough to stay in school repay part of my loan and reclaim my sense of direction. I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done without Passcode Cyber Recovery. Their transparency, speed and compassion made all the difference. I share this to warn others online scams are getting alarmingly advanced. They target ambition and vulnerability. If you fall victim, don’t suffer in silence. Reach out, verify everything and remember with experts like Passcode Cyber Recovery is possible.
